Celebrating Sacred Life Sunday

Carla Blazek at Zena Musings has come up with a wonderful idea for celebrating what is special or sacred to you in life by blogging about it weekly on Sundays.

She describes Sacred Life Sunday as follows:

Sacred Life Sunday isn't really a challenge -- that sounds too strenuous -- it's really more of a softening ... into a moment, a treasured possession, a companion -- people, parts and places of your everyday life that you cherish. Whatever is sacred to you.

For me, it might be my altar, a candle I'm burning, my dogs, the garden, a friend, a book I'm reading, nature, something I did, someplace I went, something important to me, or, who knows, maybe just my morning bowl of Cheerios!

The idea is to creatively connect with the holiness of my everyday life, plus I also need gentle kicks in the butt to turn OFF the game of Hearts and away from shadow comforts and turn towards God, life and others.

The main idea of Sacred Life Sunday is to share something that is sacred to you or helps you connect with your spirit on a weekly basis.

So I'll be joining the Sacred Life Sunday with the Grief, Loss and Transitions Blog and sharing something that is special, sacred or healing to me or just helps me reconnect with special restoring moments.

Grief, Loss & Transitions is Now a Passionate Blog

In my Internet blog searchings, I came across the Small is Beautiful Manifesto and immediately signed up the Grief, Loss & Transitions Blog as a Passionate Blog.

I have been following my passion with creating and maintaining the Journey of Hearts site and now the Grief, Loss and Transitions Blog for more than 10 years. (At least we've seen more than 600,000 visitors to the Journey of Hearts site.)

New Designations - Healthcare/Medical Blogger & Type-A Mom Writer

My diverse background is surfacing in the two new designations that we are getting for the Grief, Loss & Transitions Blog. I am honored to be attaining both of these designations.

Healthcare Blogger
The first designation as a Medical Blogger or officially a "Healthcare Blogger" comes from my background as a physician.

This designation is meant for healthcare workers who blog (the initial intent of the code of ethics).

The full code of ethics for the Healthcare Bloggers can be found on the Medical Blog Code website.


Type-A Mom Writer
The other designation comes from my background as a mother, a sometimes Type-A personality and as a NICU Parent.

I am an "Official Type-A Mom Writer" contributing to their special section for NICU Parents, blogging on finding "Restoring Moments."

I will be contributing articles and information on various aspects of health and well-being of children.

The latest article that I contributed to the Type-A Mom site featured in yesterday's post, on "More on Helping Children Cope if Harry Potter Dies" with the Type-A Mom article available at "Helping Children Cope if Harry Potter Dies."

Journey of Hearts is also GriefandLoss.info

Journey of Hearts was created in 1997 by Domain Designer Dr. Kirsti A. Dyer as an online place for anyone grieving a loss. It was the first and only physician based website devoted to educating people about the normal grief response.

After nearly 10 years of service to the Grieving Internet community providing information on Grief and Loss, Journey of Hearts is taking on a more descriptive term and descriptive URL.

Journey of Hearts has been an online place for Grief and Loss info, now it is officially an online place for GriefandLoss.info

This means if you type in GriefandLoss.info into your browser you will discover the Journey of Hearts website.
